The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years. RCH provides a full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services, including tertiary and quaternary care for critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW, and other states around Australia and overseas.

The Medical Imaging Department (MID) delivers comprehensive clinical services to all hospital departments. The role of the RCH Paediatric Radiology Fellow is to further their learning in all areas of paediatric diagnostic radiology. This position presents an invaluable opportunity to cultivate the necessary skills for a future consultant role in both inpatient and outpatient care settings, under the guidance and support of Paediatric Radiology Consultants.

Fellows collaborate closely with clinical teams through their clinical reporting and involvement in multiple multidisciplinary team meetings. They are actively involved in educational activities both within the Department and throughout the greater hospital. This Paediatric Radiology Fellowship opportunity is well-suited for individuals who have successfully completed the FRANZCR examination or an equivalent qualification and who wish to equip themselves with greater paediatric radiology experience and/or aspire to build a career in paediatric radiology.

The Fellowship position is for applicants seeking full-time employment with options of 6-month and 12-month contracts available. Please specify your preferred intake period in your cover letter. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a National Criminal Record Check and a Working with Children Check. Compliance with the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Staff Immunisation – Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases procedure is also mandatory.

Why work at the RCH? RCH enjoys high employee engagement and is committed to staff safety and a positive culture. We offer the opportunity to work in world-class facilities, surrounded by Royal Park and only a short tram trip from the heart of Melbourne city. We also offer discounted staff parking, salary packaging, and an award-winning health and wellbeing program.

The RCH is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, all members of the LGBTQI community, and people with disabilities.

It is a requirement of your employment that you be vaccinated against Influenza annually for Category A and B roles, in compliance with any public health orders in place at the relevant time, unless you have a medical exception. Applicants will be required to provide their Australian Government Immunisation History Statement, as it is a requirement of the RCH to collect, record, and hold vaccination information.
