About Dynamic Connections Therapy

Based in Maryborough on Queensland’s Fraser Coast, DCT provides occupational therapy, psychology, counselling and play therapy. Our approach is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed and attachment-based, with relationships at the heart of our work. • Paid personal and carer’s leave.
  • Monthly funded individual clinical supervision.
  • Monthly group supervision and team meetings for collaboration, reflection and shared learning.
  • Five days’ paid professional development leave annually, pro rata for part-time employees and additional to annual leave.

About the role

Based at our Maryborough clinic, you will provide individualised speech pathology assessment and intervention. Your client age range and clinical scope will be agreed with you, taking account of your competence, experience and interests. Your work may include:

  • Comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments, using standardised tools, clinical observation, interviews and functional activities.
  • Assessment and intervention relating to speech sounds, receptive and expressive language, literacy, fluency, voice and social communication, within your scope.
  • Assessing communication needs and supporting augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
  • Contributing speech pathology findings to multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessment pathways, helping clarify communication strengths and needs and inform diagnostic formulation within your professional scope.
  • Preparing assessment reports, explaining findings and developing practical recommendations.
  • Providing evidence-based intervention linked to each person’s goals and everyday life.
  • Working with families, carers, educators and support networks to help strategies carry over beyond appointments.
  • Collaborating with DCT clinicians and external professionals to support coordinated care.
  • Contributing to groups, education and service development where these align with your interests.
  • Feeding and swallowing services may be considered where they align with your competence, interests and the clinical supports available.

Your balance of assessment and therapy work will be discussed with you. Time for preparation, scoring, interpretation and report writing will be included in workload planning.

Why join DCT?

  • Relationships matter here: We value respectful relationships with clients, families and colleagues, and make time for collaboration and shared learning.
  • Your professional interests have a place: Whether you enjoy early intervention, functional assessment, sensory participation or helping children build everyday independence, we would like to understand what motivates you.
  • Your working time includes the work around therapy: Preparation, documentation, reports and collaboration are recognised parts of your clinical role and are included in workload planning.
  • You can contribute to our next chapter: Join a growing practice where you can share ideas, help develop programs and contribute to services that respond to our community.

Considering a move to the Fraser Coast? Make Maryborough your working base, with Hervey Bay nearby for beach walks and weekends by the water. If you are considering relocating, we welcome a conversation about the role, your preferred start date and getting to know our practice and community. Whether you are planning a move or already call the region home, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for the following requirements:

  • A recognised Speech Pathology qualification and eligibility for Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Skills in speech pathology assessment, intervention and report writing relevant to your experience and intended caseload.
  • A commitment to neuro-affirming, person-centred, evidence-based and culturally responsive practice.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, carers and other professionals.
  • The ability to organise your workload, maintain accurate clinical records and work within your professional competence.
  • A reflective approach, willingness to seek support and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • An interest in contributing to the development of speech pathology within a multidisciplinary practice.
  • Australian working rights and willingness to obtain or maintain the relevant screening clearances required for the role.
  • Experience with children, adolescents, adults or a combination is welcome. You do not need experience across every age group or clinical area to apply.
  • Early-career speech pathologists with relevant placement experience are also welcome to apply, with suitability considered alongside the supervision and support required.
