Why work with us
Every child and young person deserves a great education.
We have a strategy that aims to unlock every child's potential now and into the future, one that in partnership with learners, students, parents and the wider South Australian community will build a world-leading public education system. One that is equitable and prioritises learning and wellbeing.
Together we will make our education system the best it can be.
When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.
About the role
The South Australian Government has invested in the Autism Inclusion Teacher Initiative, which supports Autism Inclusion Teachers (AITs) in all public schools with a primary enrolment across the state.
The Autism Inclusion Multidisciplinary (AIM) Team works collaboratively to build the capability of AITs to lead and influence inclusive, neuro-affirming practices within their school communities. The role contributes to the development and delivery of evidence-informed professional learning, resources and consultation to more than 420 Autism Inclusion Teachers across South Australia.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Speech Pathologist contributes to a capability building service model that supports sustainable change across schools. The role also works with SIES staff, the wider Inclusive Teaching and Learning Directorate, Student Support Services, Local Education Teams and other stakeholders to strengthen inclusive, neuro-affirming practice and support the Department's commitment to improve outcomes for Autistic and neurodivergent learners.
