The Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) is seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Molecular Immunology to join a visionary, collaborative and globally connected research environment. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will investigate host immune responses to malaria infection using human samples and advanced systems immunology approaches to define immune mechanisms that inform next-generation therapeutics and vaccine development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact global health research while working alongside leading experts in a culture that values innovation, excellence, inclusivity and creating change together.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Research: Conduct molecular immunology studies, including multi-parameter flow cytometry, proteomics, bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, and integrated multi-omics analyses to define immune responses to malaria infection and vaccination.
  • Research: Apply advanced computational biology, coding, and systems immunology approaches to integrate complex immune datasets and generate insights that support therapeutic and vaccine development.
  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Mentor PhD students and junior researchers, contribute to the supervision of Higher Degree by Research students, and foster a collaborative and high-performing research culture.
  • Citizenship and Service: Contribute to collaborative research initiatives, competitive funding applications, service activities within IMB and UQ, and actively support a collegial and inclusive research environment.
