We're a growing organic, gut-friendly ready-made meals business moving into a bigger production space and building out our kitchen team from the ground up. We're after someone who can take real ownership of the kitchen: running production, building and leading a team, developing our recipes, and helping shape how this business operates as it grows.
Key responsibilities
- Own day-to-day and weekly production planning to meet demand, and manage prep, cook, packaging with consistency and precision.
- Recruit, train and roster a new kitchen team, and lead them day to day.
- Lead recipe development with new delicious and exciting dishes, seasonal menus, and refining what we already make.
- Maintain and build on our existing food safety program (records, training, audits).
- Manage stock, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Food costing and margins.
- Help plan and set up the new Clifton Hill space (equipment, workflow, systems) before and during the move.
About you
- Real experience running a high-volume or production kitchen.
- Confidence building systems and processes.
- Strong understanding of food safety and compliance.
- Strong command of costings, margins and ordering.
- A genuine belief that food is medicine. You understand food provenance, nutrition and seasonality, and can build a menu where people can feel and taste the love around that.
- Enjoy the challenge of cooking to meet different allergy and food sensitivity requirements, not daunted by it.
- Passionate about being part of a business at this growth stage and helping take it to the next level.
