We're looking for two experienced Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to join a cloud engineering team supporting a high-traffic digital platform.
You'll work across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, infrastructure automation and production reliability, with a focus on improving performance, scalability and cloud cost efficiency.
This is a hands-on engineering role covering both production support and platform improvements.
You'll help manage and improve existing infrastructure while introducing better automation, observability and incident response practices.
The team is also exploring emerging approaches such as AI-assisted operations, automated incident response and self-healing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Support & Reliability: Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues across GCP, manage production incidents and improve platform stability.
- GCP Infrastructure: Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, with a focus on availability, performance and reliability.
- Kubernetes & GKE: Manage, deploy and scale containerised applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Helm and CI/CD pipelines.
- Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain Terraform configurations, including reusable modules, remote state management and infrastructure provisioning.
- Git Ops & Automation: Automate infrastructure and application deployments using Argo CD, Git Ops practices and CI/CD tooling.
- Observability & Monitoring: Implement Open Telemetry, distributed tracing, monitoring dashboards and alerting using GCP Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging and tools such as Dynatrace.
- Cloud Cost Optimisation: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through GKE rightsizing, resource management and automated cloud usage reporting.
- Networking & Security: Manage GCP networking, VPCs, firewalls, load balancing, private clusters, IAM and service account permissions.
- Continuous Improvement: Improve operational processes, reduce manual intervention and develop automation to support platform reliability.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Dev Ops or Cloud Engineering.
- Extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, GKE and Helm, including deployment, scaling and troubleshooting.
- Advanced Terraform experience, including modules, remote backends and state management.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops or Harness.
- Experience implementing Git Ops workflows with Argo CD.
- Practical experience implementing Open Telemetry for distributed tracing and metrics, alongside monitoring, dashboards and alerting.
- Experience with GCP networking, including VPCs, load balancing, private endpoints and firewall configuration.
- Understanding of GCP IAM, service accounts, Workload Identity and least-privilege access.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot production incidents across infrastructure, containers and applications.
- Preferred / Bonus Skills
- AWS infrastructure experience.
- Experience troubleshooting JVM-based applications in Kubernetes environments.
- Fin Ops experience, including cloud billing analysis, GKE rightsizing and cost optimisation.
- SQL and Big Query experience, particularly building automated reporting or cloud cost data pipelines.
- Python or Bash scripting for automation.
- Experience with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions or Cloud Scheduler.
- Familiarity with Apigee X or similar API management platforms.
- Exposure to AI-assisted operations, automated incident response or self-healing systems.
