What the job involves
- Produce high-quality news stories, live pages and digital video on major UK and global events
- Deliver accurate, engaging journalism, from breaking news to features, with strong editorial judgement
- Produce social-first formats for planned and breaking news, reaching new and underserved audiences
- Work with BBC News colleagues on platform-native content for BBC News social accounts
- Use audience insights, platform trends and performance data to shape content decisions
- Apply BBC editorial standards confidently, especially on complex or fast-moving stories
- Contribute to live coverage online
- Make and curate video for social platforms and the news website
Experience
- Covering the UK and international news agenda in text and video
- Writing and publishing breaking news in text for digital audiences
- Producing and editing short news video clips

- Familiarity with BBC editorial values
