The Local Publishing Group Pty Ltd - Runaway Bay QLD
The Local NGC is the Northern Gold Coast's free monthly community magazine, covering everywhere from Sanctuary Cove to Main Beach. We launched in August 2026, and all 15,000 copies are picked up from shopping centres and cafés every month. Each copy is read by around 2.5 people, and it sits on coffee tables for weeks, not seconds like a social media post. We're also digital and growing fast, and we're looking for someone to work part-time and be a friendly, self-motivated sales person to help local businesses get seen by their community. The position is an hourly wage plus commission contract or commission only depending on the applicant.
Key responsibilities:
- Chat with local businesses (cafés, restaurants, health and wellbeing, trades, retail, services) about advertising in The Local NGC.
- Strategically work with businesses to show how we can help grow their business.
- Build relationships with existing advertisers and find new ones.
- Work from Helensvale to Main Beach.
About you:
- Someone who loves people, happily picks up the phone or walks in the door, and knows when to make themselves scarce because the owner's got more on their plate than a Christmas buffet.
- You must be familiar with or can quickly learn how to make an advert, using AI or other design programs.
- A free thinker who can create strategies for businesses so our magazine works for them.
- Local knowledge and business connections on the Northern Gold Coast are a big plus.
- Sales or advertising experience is essential but attitude matters more.
- Your own car, phone and an ABN.
