You'll lead people, get involved in all departments, and make things better. This is a hands-on role for someone who gets amongst it, learns from the inside out, and makes things happen to help build a stronger, more efficient and scalable business.

Key responsibilities

  • Take a hands-on approach across Franchising, Marketing, Franchise Support, Operations and Customer Service, understanding the inner workings of each department to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactively develop and implement practical solutions that streamline processes, improve productivity and strengthen collaboration between departments.
  • Oversee departmental performance, workloads and accountability, ensuring teams are working effectively and business priorities are being achieved.
  • Monitor operational compliance across the franchise network, annual business goals and key initiatives, ensuring the business remains on track for sustainable growth and scalability.
  • Work closely with senior management to drive continuous improvement and build systems that help the business operate better year after year.
  • Lead, support and hold internal teams accountable, providing hands-on guidance and stepping in where needed to overcome challenges.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding and performance management to ensure departments are appropriately resourced and operating effectively.
  • Conduct regular staff performance reviews, including monthly one-on-one meetings, to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, address performance concerns and support individual development and accountability.
  • Lead and deliver initial Franchise Partner training programmes, including regular 3-4 day sessions in Adelaide approximately every six weeks and three scheduled sessions in Auckland, New Zealand.
  • Develop and continually improve the internal Learning Management System (LMS), training resources and educational programmes.

About you

  • Proven experience in operations management and/or business leadership.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with the confidence to immerse yourself in different departments and challenge existing processes constructively.
  • A collaborative, approachable personality with the confidence to stand in front of people and present, lead change and have difficult conversations when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to identify bottlenecks, implement improvements and drive operational efficiency.
  • Excellent people management skills, including recruitment, coaching, performance management and accountability.
  • Strong business acumen, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence delivering training, facilitating workshops and presenting to groups.
  • The ability to guide people with limited business experience, balancing encouragement and empathy with firm expectations.
  • Experience developing training programmes, learning resources or Learning Management Systems.
  • Willingness to travel to Auckland for scheduled Franchise Partner training.
