WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2013 as Scape Australia, leaders in student housing, we’ve since grown into a vertically integrated living platform known as The Living Company; managing $18B in assets across Student Living (Scape), Rent to Live – Affordable Housing (RTL Co.), and Retirement Living (Aveo); spanning site origination, investment, planning, design, development, construction, and operations.

The Living Company is reshaping the way Australians live by delivering sustainable, community-driven, and high-quality spaces across the country.

THE ROLE

As the Insurance Senior Associate, you’ll hold primary accountability for the placement of all insurance across The Living Company, from the general insurance programme through to workers’ compensation.

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven role. You’ll own the broker relationship, manage general insurance claims across the portfolio, and work closely with Treasury and our community finance teams. You’ll also get out to our sites, engaging directly with residents, resident committees and loss adjusters, and reporting to our governance bodies along the way.

Day-to-day you will be (but not limited to):

Owning the annual renewal process for general insurance and workers’ compensation, from market review and broker engagement through to final placement

Managing our brokerage arrangements and advising on insurance aspects of acquisitions, divestments, development activity and commercial agreements

Owning the premium allocation methodology and working with Treasury to secure premium funding across our funds, managers and sites

Overseeing general insurance claims end-to-end, including site visits, loss adjuster meetings and claims trend reviews

Leading the property valuation and business interruption programme, and closing out underinsurance risk

Engaging residents and resident committees across Seniors Living, and reporting to the Board Risk Committee and Aveo Home Care Services Board

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Undergraduate degree in insurance, business, risk, accounting, finance or a related discipline

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in insurance management, broking or a similar role within a corporate or insurance environment

Demonstrated experience managing group insurance programmes, including general insurance and workers’ compensation placement and renewals across multi-entity portfolios

Proven experience in end-to-end claims management, working with brokers, insurers and legal advisers

Strong understanding of premium allocation and cost management across complex portfolios

Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to translate technical insurance matters into clear language for residents and senior leaders alike

Professional certification in insurance or risk (e.g. ANZIIF), or experience in retirement living, aged care, student accommodation or real estate, will be highly regarded

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?

Be part of a purpose-led organisation shaping how Australians live

Exposure to a large, diversified living platform with real scale and complexity

Strong focus on wellbeing, growth, and inclusive culture

Competitive rewards, recognition programs, and lifestyle benefits
