The Kewdale Tavern is seeking a Duty Manager to join our management team. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in running a smooth shift, and is happy to roll up their sleeves when the venue needs it.
We’re a working tavern with both bar operations and a bottle shop on site. Some shifts are relaxed, others are fast‑paced - the key is being confident leading the team and service at all times.
About the role:
Running shifts and overseeing day‑to‑day venue operations
Opening and closing the venue (2-3 closes per week)
Leading and supporting the team on shift
Reporting directly to the Venue Manager
Stepping in wherever needed on the day - whether that’s service, resolving issues, or looking after patrons
Keeping the venue organised and running smoothly during both quiet and busy periods

What we’re looking for:
Previous hospitality management experience
Current RSA
Current Australian Approved Managers Licence
Strong leadership and communication skills
A practical, flexible approach and willingness to jump in where required
