The 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care team at Western Australian Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (WAVES) work hard, support each other, and take pride in delivering high-quality patient care. If you’re a vet nurse and want to work in a role where you’ll be valued and supported to grow within the fast-paced ECC environment, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

We’re a privately owned, well established hospital. We're looking for compassionate, motivated Veterinary Nurses to provide high-quality care to our patients and support to our clients and team. You’ll be supported by an experienced team of ECC Specialists, Veterinarians, Nurses, Animal attendants, Cleaners, Receptionists and hands-on leaders who understand the realities of ECC and shift work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Treating and monitoring emergency cases and in-hospital patients
  • Keeping meticulous records on the patients in your care, making sure they are regularly updated during your shift
  • Working with veterinarians as a team to facilitate patient care and recognising abnormalities in patients’ health
  • Supporting clients with empathy and professionalism

What WAVES ECC Offers

  • An established, friendly and supportive team culture
  • Permanent positions
  • Privately owned, purpose-built hospital with all the toys you’d expect (and more)
  • Ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development from some of the best in the bizz
  • Above award rates
  • Rotating monthly rosters with a potential mix of shifts: Days (8am-5pm), Evenings (4:30pm-12:30am) and Overnights (12am-8:30am)

What We’re Looking For

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing OR equivalent Diploma qualified nurse is essential for the role
  • Registered with the VPBWA (or willing and able to be)
  • While ECC experience is highly regarded, it isn’t essential. We’re looking for nurses who are eager to learn and grow, genuinely care about their patients, and support the people around them.
  • Someone who is self-motivated and excited to learn and grow
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach

Sponsorship Opportunities

WAVES ECC is open to discussing sponsorship opportunities for experienced overseas nurses. However local nurses of any experience level are welcome to reach out to Jayde for a chat.
