The YHA Cape Byron and YHA Byron Bay properties are casual, fun spaces with heated pools and great common areas where our guests gather and enjoy drinks, meals and BBQs. Ideally located in the town centre, the properties are within walking distance from the beach and cycling paths.
About the role: YHA Cape Byron (30 rooms) and Byron Bay (60 rooms) are looking for a full-time Shift Manager to join and support the Team. Reporting to the Property Manager, you will support the daily operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the properties. Your focus will include providing exceptional service to our guests, supervising team members, and offering primary support to our Assistant Manager and Property Manager.
What you’ll get to do:
- Promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the properties and ensure they represent YHA values and mission.
- Manage daily operations including check-ins/outs, group movements, activities and events.
- Support the team to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, providing hands-on support.
- Prepare shift reports and communicate relevant information to the Property Manager and other team members.
- Act as the first point of contact in emergency situations, following established protocols and SOPs.
What are we looking for:
- Experience as a Duty Manager, Shift Manager, Front of House Manager or similar.
- First Aid & CPR Certification is beneficial.
- Availability for rotating 7-day roster.
- Proven leader with a passion for seeing your team succeed.
