Engineering Supervisor in Sydney

What You'll Be Doing

• Supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Engineering and Handyperson teams
• Leading preventative maintenance programs across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and building services
• Managing Out of Order (OOO) rooms to ensure timely rectification and return to inventory
• Allocating, prioritising, and monitoring reactive and preventative maintenance work orders
• Conducting regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements and safety risks
• Coordinating engineering support with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Events, and Security teams
• Monitoring the performance and condition of building services, plant equipment, air conditioning systems, pumps, boilers, kitchen equipment, and lighting systems
• Managing contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards
• Assisting with refurbishment projects, capital works, and asset improvement initiatives
• Supporting emergency response activities and providing leadership during operational incidents
• Acting as the department representative in the absence of the Director of Engineering or Senior Assistant Chief Engineer

What We're Looking For

• Previous supervisory experience within a hotel, hospitality, or large commercial property environment
• Trade qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, Carpentry, Plumbing, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance planning and building services
• Demonstrated experience managing contractors and coordinating multiple priorities
• Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety legislation and safe work practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong leadership capability with a hands-on, service-oriented approach
• Ability to build positive relationships across all hotel departments
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Relevant licences and certifications will be highly regarded, including Fire Safety/Warden, Work at Heights, or Confined Space certifications
