The Drain Man, a division of TDM Group Australia, is a leading provider of drain clearing and relining services across Metro Sydney and Melbourne. We specialise in drain clearing, CCTV drainage inspections and helping customers identify and assess drainage issues using specialised equipment and technology.

We're looking for individuals who have a genuine passion in drain clearing or would like to move beyond general plumbing. If you're passionate about hands-on work, solving drainage issues, working with specialised equipment, and learning new skills in trenchless technology, we'd love to hear from you. Applicants from across Sydney and the Central Coast are encouraged to apply. The role offers opportunities to travel for work throughout NSW and VIC.

The role combines hands-on technical work with direct customer interaction, including explaining drainage issues identified during CCTV inspections and discussing long-term solutions.

On Offer:

  • Competitive Pay Rate: Above industry standards based on experience, technical ability, and willingness to learn and develop within the industry.
  • Career Development: Comprehensive training in domestic CCTV drainage inspections, specialised drainage equipment, fault identification, and trenchless technology.
  • Travel Opportunities: Opportunity to work across NSW and VIC, offering exposure to different projects, locations, and teams.
  • Broader Career Opportunities: Gain exposure to TDM Group and broaden your experience across TDM Pipeline Solutions, which delivers specialised services across local and state government departments, civil construction projects and road and rail infrastructure.
  • Supportive Work Environment: Comprehensive administrative and operational support to help you focus on what you do best.
  • Growing Company: We are experiencing increasing workloads and are constantly looking for new team members to join our growing workforce, providing ongoing work and long-term career opportunities.
  • Recognition: Be valued and recognised as a key member of an industry-leading team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A current Driver’s license with a good driving history (Manual, MR or HR license is highly regarded). Applicants must provide a current 5-Year Driver History Report as part of the recruitment process.
  • A valid Construction Induction White Card.
  • Experience with CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) relining methods is highly regarded, but not essential.
  • Strong technical aptitude and industry experience.
  • A positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and customer service excellence.
  • Confidence in customer interaction, strong communication skills, and an understanding of the significance in delivering excellent customer service while identifying opportunities to grow the business.
  • Relining experience is highly regarded, but not essential. We welcome applicants who are keen to learn. Training and support will be provided to help the right person develop their skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build a long-term career with an established and growing company while developing skills in a specialised area of the drainage industry. If you’re looking to pivot away from general plumbing and learn a specialised trade or are keen to combine hands-on technical work with customer interaction and sales, we’d love to hear from you.

The Drain Man is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
