THE OPPORTUNITY

We are now seeking experienced and energetic Duty Managers to join the opening leadership team at The Country Club Hotel. This will be a high-volume, fast-paced and highly interactive venue, and we’re looking for strong floor leaders who thrive in busy environments, enjoy being visible with both guests and staff, and know how to keep a large operation running smoothly.

As a Duty Manager, you’ll play a key role in setting the tone of the venue each shift. You’ll support department leaders, coach team members, manage service standards, respond to operational issues and ensure guests receive a consistently strong experience across the venue. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and wants to be part of building the culture of a brand-new venue from day one.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Duty Manager, you’ll work closely with the venue leadership team to oversee the day-to-day operation and ensure each shift runs safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting front-of-house teams across busy services
  • Being highly visible on the floor and actively engaging with guests
  • Supporting department managers across bars, dining, gaming and entertainment areas
  • Driving service standards and creating a positive guest experience
  • Managing shift operations, staff deployment and service flow
  • Coaching, motivating and developing team members
  • Responding quickly and professionally to guest feedback and operational issues
  • Ensuring RSA, RSG, gaming and venue compliance requirements are maintained
  • Supporting cash handling, tills, daily reconciliations and end-of-shift procedures
  • Managing opening and closing procedures
  • Assisting with staff breaks, labour management and operational coverage
  • Maintaining strong venue presentation, cleanliness and safety standards
  • Working with security, kitchen, cellar and other departments to keep operations moving
  • Completing incident reporting and relevant shift documentation
  • Contributing to a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for confident hospitality leaders who can balance great guest service with strong operational awareness. You’ll be someone who enjoys being on the floor, communicates well with people at all levels and can stay composed when the venue is busy. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, Venue Supervisor or similar hospitality leadership role
  • Experience in pubs, clubs, hotels, large restaurants or high-volume venues
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills
  • Excellent communication and guest-service skills
  • The confidence to make decisions and take ownership during a shift
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality operations and compliance
  • Experience managing busy services and large teams
  • A hands-on leadership style and willingness to lead from the front
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Current RSA and RSG, with approved manager or relevant licensing highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a large venue opening will also be highly regarded.

WHY JOIN US?

This is an opportunity to be part of something from the beginning. You’ll join the opening leadership team, help establish the venue culture and service standards, and play a genuine role in shaping how The Country Club Hotel operates from day one. If you’re an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys developing people and knows how to create a great guest experience, we’d love to hear from you.
