The Avenue Children’s Centre and Kindergarten is a community-managed, 40-place long day care centre with a proud history of delivering high-quality education and care. Located in the heart of Balaclava/St Kilda East, we are known for our welcoming environment, strong community connections, and passionate team. New team members will be joining an experienced, collaborative team that values relationships, learning, and community.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our 2–3 1/2 year-old educational program. This is a full-time role with a rotating roster between 7:15am–6:00pm. As part of our dedicated and nurturing team, you will:
- Support and contribute to a high-quality educational program under the guidance of the Room leader
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Collaborate with others to meet the developmental needs of all children
- Assist with the smooth daily operations of the room, ensuring alignment with regulations and centre policies
About You
We are looking for a passionate, reliable, and experienced educator who:
- Has a minimum of 5 years' experience working with children, including those with additional needs
- Demonstrates effective behaviour guidance strategies
- Works well in a team and responds positively to direction
- Communicates clearly and professionally with families and colleagues
- Is punctual, proactive, and able to adapt quickly to routines
Required Qualifications & Certifications:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
- Current Working with Children Check
- First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates
- Mandatory Reporting and Child Protection training
- Sound knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, NQF, and Child Safe Standards
