Exciting opportunity to expand your skillset, grow as a clinician, and develop expertise in a specialised and rapidly evolving field. Are you a psychologist who wants the independence of private practice with the support and connection of a team that values growth, learning, wellbeing, and meaningful patient care? We welcome psychologists who value the shared expertise of a collaborative team across Melbourne, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

We currently have space for a generally registered/clinical registrar, or a soon-to-be fully registered psychologist, to join our Brisbane clinic in Paddington. We value long-term commitment and alignment with our mission to help clients achieve lasting change. With strong referral pathways and a full waiting list, you'll quickly build a rewarding caseload.

Develop expertise in one of the fastest-growing and most interesting areas of psychology. Gut-brain therapies, including gut-directed hypnotherapy and CBT, are evidence-based therapies supported by international gastroenterology guidelines and decades of clinical research. With strong clinical evidence demonstrating meaningful improvements in gastrointestinal symptoms for many patients, you’ll have the opportunity to see the tangible impact of your work, often within a relatively short treatment program of 6–10 weeks. This is a rewarding opportunity to broaden your clinical skill set, develop specialist expertise and grow as a practitioner in the rapidly evolving field of gut-brain psychology.

About The Role

  • Approx. 2-3 days per week with a flexible start date, early 2027.
  • We support patients experiencing gut–brain interaction disorders e.g. IBS, functional gut symptoms (bloating, nausea, abdominal pain, reflux, dyspepsia), and IBD counselling.
  • Working with diverse clinical presentations including comorbid anxiety, depression, trauma, and a range of health and gut-related disorders, including disordered eating (including ARFID).
  • Associated chronic health conditions, health anxiety, stress management, and general mental health concerns.
  • Provide therapy to adults, adolescents and children from 4 years old.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies including CBT, gut-directed hypnotherapy, ACT and other gut-focused therapies.
  • Experience in hypnotherapy is not required. Training in gut-directed hypnotherapy is provided as part of your introduction to the role.
  • Work with a consistent caseload of gut–brain presentations.
  • Provide sessions in-person and via telehealth.

Why This Role

  • Work within a defined clinical area with strong and growing demand.
  • See meaningful patient progress and outcomes.
  • Build depth in health psychology, chronic illness and mind–body work.
  • Be part of a collaborative, warm and supportive clinical team.

Our Approach

  • Evidence-based care grounded in scientific research.
  • Person-centred treatment, recognising the importance of connection and engagement.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning, clinical excellence and innovation.

Who This Role Is For

  • This position is suited to psychologists who have experience or a strong interest in health psychology, chronic illness, pain management or mind–body conditions.
  • Are seeking a long-term role in private practice.
  • Prefer to develop depth in a focused clinical area rather than remain a generalist.
