At Texco, we take great pride in our contribution to Australia's industrial property landscape. We believe in rewarding hard work, nurturing relationships, and fostering innovative thinking within a collaborative workplace and project environment.

We are proud to have attracted some of the best talent in the industry and are continuously seeking individuals who share our passion for industrial and commercial construction, thrive on challenges, and are motivated to learn and grow within a high-performing team.

As our NSW project portfolio continues to expand, an exciting opportunity has become available for a proactive and detail-focused Design Administrator to join our growing design team in Alexandria.

Whether you're a recent graduate looking to kick-start your career or have gained some initial experience in the construction or design industry, this is a great opportunity to build your technical knowledge, gain exposure to diverse projects and develop your career with the support of an experienced team.

The opportunity on offer

As our Design Administrator, you'll play an important role in supporting the coordination and administration of design activities across our industrial construction projects.

Working closely with our Design Manager and broader project teams, you'll gain valuable exposure to the design and construction process, supporting everything from design documentation and consultant coordination through to project meetings and key deliverables.

This is a hands-on opportunity to develop your understanding of the design process while building the skills and experience needed to progress your career in design coordination and management.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Assist with the preparation, coordination and distribution of design documentation, drawings and project correspondence;

Maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing registers, document records and project information using systems such as Aconex;

Support the Design Manager with day-to-day design coordination activities, including tracking project deliverables and following up outstanding actions;

Attend design meetings, prepare meeting minutes and maintain action registers to support timely follow-up;

Assist with reviewing design drawings and consultant documentation to develop an understanding of project requirements and design standards;

Liaise with internal project teams, consultants and other stakeholders to support effective communication and information sharing;

Assist with the preparation and coordination of documentation for project approvals, submissions, design presentations and handovers; and

Develop your understanding of safety in design, quality requirements and the broader design and construction process.

A bit about you

You'll be someone who is organised, eager to learn and motivated to build a career in the construction and design industry. You enjoy working as part of a team, take pride in producing accurate work and are comfortable asking questions, taking initiative and developing your skills through practical experience. Not afraid to step out of your comfort zone and take the lead.

To be successful, you will also demonstrate:

A completed tertiary qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline;

Ideally 1–2 years of experience in a design, construction or project engineer / administration environment, although recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply;

An interest in developing your understanding of the design and construction process, particularly within the industrial and commercial sector;

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities;

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach;

Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, with experience in document management systems such as Aconex considered advantageous; and

A proactive attitude, willingness to take ownership of your work and genuine enthusiasm to learn and develop.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude, strong attention to detail and the ambition to build a successful career within our design team.
