TEC Partnership is one of England's largest providers of further and higher education, comprising four colleges, two training providers, a 14-16 provision and a nursery. We offer high-quality education, innovative training and life-changing opportunities to thousands of students each year.
With dedicated teaching professionals across a variety of subject areas, we are seeking a passionate and ambitious Lecturer to join our team based at our Beverley campus. Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation?
About the role
Are you passionate about inclusivity and offering opportunities to all learners? Could you deliver high quality, engaging lessons to our learners with Special Educational and/or other needs? Are you caring and supportive to enable and empower these learners to progress within the college and prepare them for independent living and employment?
Join our well-established Foundation team at East Riding College in Beverley, where we are committed to delivering high-quality and innovative education and life skills to all of our learners. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Foundation Lecturer to deliver engaging and inspiring sessions to learners on our Entry 3 Independent Living Skills, Pre-Supported and Supported Internships and our Level 1 Progression programmes.
As a Foundation Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering a curriculum that focuses on preparing learners with differing needs, including SEN, to live and thrive independently. This includes delivering employability skills, aspects of citizenship, customer service skills, work-related activity sessions and group tutorials. You may also be involved in practical sessions such as gardening or crafts. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support, helping them to develop the confidence and knowledge needed to become independent citizens.
About the person

You will need to plan your lessons around identified needs to ensure progress of each learner and to ensure the development of work-ready skills, independent living skills and positive behaviours.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as parental and carer engagement is key in this area. You should also possess strong organisation and administrative skills for duties inside and outside of the classroom. Patience, understanding and empathy is an absolute must for this role, as is positive behaviour management. Any knowledge of trauma-informed practice or restorative approaches would be an advantage.
For this role you will preferably hold a full teaching qualification (CertEd or PGCE) or be willing to work towards this, and will have some SEN experience. Maths and English qualifications at Grade 4 or C (or equivalent) are essential.
