The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of payroll for a multi-site expansive enterprise with a mix of salaried, timesheet-based and seasonal employees. It’s a standalone role for a senior payroll professional that combines weekly and monthly pay cycles. The Payroll Manager will be empowered with the scope to improve systems, strengthen controls and shape how payroll supports a diverse workforce with a strong customer service focus.

Although you will have autonomy over the payroll function, there is support provided by the Finance team, to facilitate work life balance and the opportunity for leave.

With exposure to UKG, you will expand utilisation of the rostering module and demonstrate the value and time efficiency to onsite employees.

  • Oversee payroll reconciliations, statutory reporting and remittances, including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and workers compensation wage declarations across multiple jurisdictions

  • Partner with the Head of People & Culture in EA negotiation and interpretation, translating changes into payroll processes and system updates.

  • Work with operational staff and site managers, IT and system vendors to integrate the enterprise agreement into the UKG platform and complete the rollout of the rostering module.

  • Strengthen payroll controls and support external audits

  • Act as the main point of contact for payroll queries and oversee deductions for salaried and casual employees.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have at least 10 years’ payroll experience, with deep technical skills and the ability to navigate legislative and regulatory changes, driving rigorous governance and employee experience. You’ll be able to drive systems optimisation and encourage user utilisation to a diverse stakeholder community. Subject matter expertise of UKG is critical. Exposure to Payroll Metrics experience is highly regarded.

What the role offers

The role offers a variety of projects and the opportunity to enhance the delivery of seamless, efficient, customer centric payroll operations. Working with financial leadership that is invested and supportive of payroll, looking to enhance coverage for when you need breaks.

With the flexibility to work from home up to 4 days, the organisation wants to encourage payroll accessibility, visibility and a unified, positive culture, while enabling you to shape the demands of work around the pressures of life.
