Talesca is partnering with an established renewable energy EPC contractor to identify an experienced Construction / Commissioning Manager for a major utility-scale renewable project.

The project comprises 110MW of Solar PV and a 90MW / 360MWh BESS, with construction activities currently underway and commissioning scheduled to commence in February 2027.

This opportunity will suit an experienced electrical construction or commissioning professional who can take ownership of the remaining construction activities before transitioning into leading the project's commissioning phase through to completion.

The role requires someone who is comfortable operating at both a management and technical level, with the ability to lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and remain directly involved in commissioning delivery.

The Role

Reporting into the senior project leadership team, you will be responsible for managing construction and commissioning activities across the project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee remaining construction works and coordinate the transition into commissioning.
  • Lead commissioning activities across the Solar PV and BESS facilities.
  • Manage site engineers, electrical subcontractors and commissioning personnel.
  • Coordinate commissioning interfaces with equipment manufacturers, electrical contractors and the project's substation connection.
  • Develop, review and administer commissioning procedures, testing documentation and associated processes.
  • Manage commissioning schedules, sequencing, progress and technical interfaces.
  • Ensure construction and commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Provide technical and operational leadership through commissioning and project completion.

About You

We're interested in speaking with experienced Construction Managers, Commissioning Managers and senior electrical delivery professionals who have worked on utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated construction and commissioning experience across utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
  • A strong electrical construction background, ideally within an EPC environment.
  • Experience transitioning projects from construction through commissioning and handover.
  • Hands-on knowledge of commissioning procedures, testing activities and documentation.
  • Experience managing electrical subcontractors, OEMs and multidisciplinary site teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership capabilities.
  • A practical, delivery-focused approach with the willingness to remain actively involved in site activities.
  • Flexibility to work a FIFO roster.

Experience across both Solar PV and BESS would be highly regarded.

What's on Offer

  • $250,000 remuneration package, depending on experience.
  • 2/1 FIFO roster, with potential flexibility as the project progresses into commissioning.
  • Flights and accommodation provided.
  • Living away from home allowances.
  • Major utility-scale Solar and BESS project.
  • Commissioning commencing February 2027, with activities expected to continue through late 2027 and potentially beyond.
  • Opportunity to work with an established EPC contractor on a significant renewable energy development.
  • Potential for longer-term opportunities as the business's project portfolio develops.

If you're an experienced Construction or Commissioning Manager with a background in utility-scale Solar, BESS or electrical infrastructure projects, we'd be interested in hearing from you.

All enquiries will be treated confidentially.
