Talesca is partnering with a specialist electrical infrastructure EPC contractor to recruit a Project Manager for a major wind farm development in North Queensland.
This role will focus on the overhead transmission and underground reticulation packages, with the opportunity to get involved in pre-construction planning and take the works through delivery, commissioning and handover.
About the company
The business delivers high-voltage infrastructure across the renewable energy sector, bringing together engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning capabilities.
You’ll work closely with an experienced project leadership team, coordinating specialist teams and subcontractors across interconnected electrical packages.
About the project
The contractor’s electrical balance of plant scope includes two substations, overhead transmission lines, underground reticulation and associated civil and electrical works.
Your focus will be the transmission and underground reticulation packages, managing their delivery and interfaces with the substations and wider wind farm development.
The role will initially be based in Brisbane before transitioning to a site roster.
About the role
Reporting to the Project Director, you’ll take ownership of your packages from pre-construction planning through to handover. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning programme, budget, resources and delivery milestones across the transmission and underground reticulation packages.
- Coordinating engineering, procurement, construction planning and mobilisation so designs, materials and work fronts are ready for delivery.
- Leading project teams and subcontractors, setting clear expectations for safety, quality and performance.
- Managing commercial outcomes, including variations, subcontractor performance, delivery risks and reporting.
- Working with the client and wider project team to manage interfaces, resolve issues and oversee commissioning and handover.
- What we’re looking for
- Project management experience delivering overhead transmission lines and/or underground HV/MV reticulation, with a strong understanding of the interfaces between these works.
- A background with an EPC, electrical infrastructure or high-voltage construction contractor.
- Experience managing electrical infrastructure packages through planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Strong commercial awareness, with confidence managing budgets, contracts, variations and subcontractors.
- A practical leadership style, clear communication and willingness to work initially from Brisbane before transitioning to a North Queensland site roster.
This is an opportunity to influence how significant electrical packages are planned and delivered, with ownership from the early stages through to completion.
