Want to see your designs take shape on site?

This opportunity offers hands-on involvement across design, documentation and construction, with the support of experienced engineers as you take greater ownership of your projects.

Talent Web is partnering with an established structural engineering consultancy to recruit a Structural Engineer for its Sydney team.

Specialising in industrial and commercial buildings, the business focuses on practical, economical designs that work on site.

You’ll join a close-knit team where ideas are shared, communication is direct and good engineering judgement is valued.

The opportunity

Working closely with senior engineers and project stakeholders, you’ll manage defined project scopes and contribute across the full delivery process.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures, including footings, slabs and lateral systems.
  • Preparing coordinated calculations and documentation with a strong focus on buildability.
  • Reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs and resolving construction queries.
  • Undertaking site inspections and providing practical engineering input during construction.
  • Coordinating with builders, fabricators, architects and internal project teams.
  • Maintaining quality standards and contributing to improvements in design processes and documentation.
  • What you’ll bring

You’ll have approximately 3–7 years of structural engineering experience, ideally within a consulting environment, along with:

  • Confidence in the design and detailing of steel and concrete buildings.
  • A practical understanding of how structures are built.
  • Experience with shop drawings, site coordination and construction-stage problem solving.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and ownership of deadlines and deliverables.

Progress towards CPEng or RPEQ registration is welcomed but isn’t essential.

Why join?

This is a chance to develop your technical capability while staying closely involved in project delivery.

You’ll gain exposure to substantial industrial and commercial structures, work directly with construction teams and receive guidance from experienced colleagues.

The team offers a supportive environment, a flat management structure and room to contribute your own ideas.

Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents, with full working rights in Australia.
