A leading full-service national law firm in Sydney is seeking a talented construction litigation lawyer to join their highly regarded Construction team. The team advises on a broad range of construction matters, including complex disputes across commercial, industrial, residential, infrastructure, energy, and resources projects.
The Role
You will work closely with a respected construction and projects partner and a high-performing construction team, handling back-end construction matters. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes and contribute to a team known for its commercial approach and excellent client service.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction disputes from instruction to resolution, including drafting pleadings, statements of claim/defence, and court documents.
- Conduct detailed legal research and provide practical, commercial advice to clients on contractual, statutory, and regulatory issues.
- Advise on risk management, dispute resolution strategies, and claims assessment across a variety of construction projects and sectors.
- Participate in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and adjudications, representing clients' interests effectively.
- Liaise with clients, senior lawyers, and other stakeholders to coordinate strategy and keep matters on track.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, relevant case law, and legislative developments affecting construction projects and disputes.
Requirements
- 1.5–5 years' post-qualification experience in construction litigation, gained at a top-tier, mid-tier, or specialist firm.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and problem‐solving skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‐paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‐quality client service.
