At TAFE NSW, we are dedicated to life-changing impact. That's why we offer world-class training and education that delivers the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow. The TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE) are National Centres of Excellence, a joint initiative between the Australian Government and NSW Government under the National Skills Agreement. MCoEs are an innovative education model to tackle the manufacturing skills challenge for NSW and Australia.

About the role:

Join the TAFE NSW Manufacturing Centres of Excellence (MCoE) and play a key role in strengthening industry partnerships and supporting priority manufacturing initiatives across the Hunter region. Reporting to the Strategic Partnership Manager, you will coordinate projects and program activities, build collaborative relationships with industry and education partners, and help progress initiatives that respond to regional manufacturing priorities. This is a varied, hands-on role combining project coordination and administration with industry engagement and strategic project support.

You will work proactively with internal teams and external partners to identify opportunities, coordinate activities, track progress and turn ideas into action. You will also support and, where appropriate, lead regional engagement activities that connect industry with TAFE NSW and its partners. Your understanding of the Hunter manufacturing landscape, combined with your initiative, relationship building skills and ability to work collaboratively, will help ensure MCoE activities remain connected to industry needs and deliver meaningful outcomes for the region. The role is based at TAFE NSW's Tighes Hill campus, with regional travel as required, including to the MCoE campuses in Wetherill Park and Wollongong.

About You:

You are a proactive and collaborative project professional who enjoys bringing people together, building relationships and making things happen. You take initiative, identify opportunities and follow through on commitments, while working effectively with others to achieve shared outcomes. You have a sound understanding of the Hunter's manufacturing sector and the businesses, capabilities and priorities that shape the region. You are comfortable engaging with industry and education partners, building trust with diverse stakeholders and helping translate shared priorities into practical projects and activities.

You bring strong project coordination and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate events and activities, track progress, prepare reports and keep projects moving. You are organised and solutions-focused, but equally comfortable working collaboratively on strategic initiatives and taking the lead on engagement activities when needed. You thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve, relationships matter and success depends on initiative, adaptability and a willingness to work across organisational boundaries.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline OR equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in project coordination.
  • Significant experience relevant to project management and administration and exposure to project management tools and significant competency in Microsoft Excel.

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience in project coordination within the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience supporting industry engagement, strategic partnerships or projects involving manufacturing businesses and other regional stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating or contributing to projects that address industry needs or regional economic and workforce priorities.
