Key responsibilities
- Reviewing civil and earthworks plans, scopes and specifications
- Completing quantities, measurements and material take-offs
- Preparing cost estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
- Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Assisting with tender pricing and submissions
- Reviewing project documentation and identifying scope requirements
- Assisting with variations and project cost estimates
- Maintaining tender registers and estimating records
- Uploading and submitting tenders through external project portals
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams
About you
- Experience in civil construction, earthworks or estimating
- An understanding of civil construction methods and terminology
- The ability to read and interpret civil drawings and plans
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good Excel and computer skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tenders
- A genuine interest in developing a career in civil estimating
- Experience with Bluebeam, Expert Estimation, estimating software or similar will be highly regarded
