Grace City is looking for a Ministry Support & Communications Assistant to join our staff team as we enter an exciting season of growth. Our vision is to make and grow thousands of disciples throughout Sydney and beyond. As we grow, we want to ensure people continue to be known and cared for, connected into community, equipped to serve, and communicated with clearly. We also want to build the systems and ways of working that will help our ministries flourish and prepare us for future growth.
Working with our Executive Director and across our ministry areas, you will help strengthen the ministry that happens behind the scenes so our staff and volunteers can serve people well.
What you'll be doing
- Improve how we work together as a team, helping develop simple, effective systems and processes across our ministries.
- Support ministry and events, helping people move from newcomer to connected member and into serving, while coordinating church-wide events and ministry processes.
- Make our church management system work for ministry, improving Planning Center, data and reporting, and equipping staff and volunteers to use them well.
- Help us communicate well, supporting email, social media, website and church-wide communications so the right message reaches the right people at the right time.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys people as much as processes
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Love Jesus and want to use your gifts to help make and grow disciples.
- Are warm, relational and enjoy working collaboratively with different people and teams.
- Are highly organised and have a strong eye for detail.
- Enjoy systems, technology and finding better ways of doing things.
- Communicate clearly and can turn ideas into practical action.
- Are proactive, adaptable and a natural problem-solver.
- Enjoy equipping others for the works of service and build up Christ’s church.
Experience with church management systems, digital communications or leading volunteers would be an advantage, but we’re also interested in someone with the character, capability and willingness to learn.
Start: January 2027
Days: 3–5 days per week, including 0.5 day on Sundays
Contract: 2 years
Remuneration: Clerks Private Sector Award, level determined by experience
