Scheduler – Shutdown & Turnaround

Sustech Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to join our team for an assignment of more than 12 months, supporting a major organisation in the resources and fertiliser industry.

We are looking for a highly experienced scheduling professional with approximately 15 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in shutdown and turnaround scheduling.

The role is primarily office-based, with periodic site visits required. The successful candidate will also be required to spend some time on site during the execution phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage detailed shutdown and turnaround schedules.
• Undertake planning and scheduling activities using Primavera P6.
• Develop work sequences, activity logic, dependencies and critical path schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations and contractor teams.
• Monitor schedule progress and identify potential delays, constraints and critical activities.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, progress reports and schedule forecasts.
• Support resource planning, work sequencing and coordination during shutdown preparation and execution.
• Identify scheduling risks and develop appropriate mitigation and recovery plans.
• Provide scheduling support throughout shutdown and turnaround planning and execution.

Skills and Experience

• 15 years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling.
• Strong background in shutdown and turnaround scheduling.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing complex schedules.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, including planning and scheduling functions.
• Experience in maintenance, plant operations, resources, oil and gas, or process industries.
• Strong understanding of critical path analysis, work sequencing, schedule development and progress measurement.
• Excellent stakeholder coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with multidisciplinary project and maintenance teams.
