AI, automation and digital transformation are changing the way businesses operate, and the way we think about technology risk needs to evolve just as quickly. We’re looking for a Lead Internal Auditor - Technology to help build the next generation of technology assurance at Super Retail Group. This is not your traditional audit opportunity. You’ll bring strong technology capability into the team, leading assurance across technology, cyber, data and digital risk while helping us embed data analytics, automated testing, continuous auditing and AI-enabled audit techniques into the way we work.

What you’ll be doing

  • Help shape our technology assurance approach, covering IT general controls, cyber security, core systems, APIs, integrations and enterprise data flows.
  • Put AI and emerging technology firmly on the agenda, assessing the evolving use of AI and autonomous agents and translating emerging technical risks into practical, business-relevant assurance priorities.
  • Lead technology audits end to end, from risk assessment and scoping through to fieldwork, control testing, reporting and recommendations.
  • Provide independent assurance across significant IT and digital transformation programs, connecting technology delivery, project governance, risk and key success factors.
  • Build our digital audit capability, partnering with co-sourced specialists to embed data analytics, automated testing, continuous auditing and AI-enabled audit techniques into the internal team.
  • Help progress our roadmap towards continuous auditing and continuous controls monitoring, building reusable approaches and capability along the way.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong knowledge of IT general controls, cyber security fundamentals, systems architecture, APIs and systems integration.
  • Current knowledge of and genuine curiosity about AI, autonomous agents and emerging technologies, including the risks created as adoption grows.
  • Experience understanding or evaluating technology and digital project delivery, including governance, risk and key success factors.
  • The ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear, commercially relevant conversations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management capability within a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • High professional standards, curiosity and the confidence to challenge constructively while maintaining independence and objectivity.

Why this role?

  • Shape what’s next in technology assurance and help embed AI, data analytics, automated testing and continuous auditing into the way we approach technology risk.
  • Work across a diverse technology landscape, partnering with Technology, Cyber Security, transformation teams, business leaders and specialist providers.
  • Grow your career across an iconic retail group, with a strong history of supporting cross-functional career moves and opportunities to grow professionally, technically and as a leader.
  • Enjoy generous team member discounts across Supercheap Auto, rebel, BCF and Macpac, plus Super Retail Everyday Perks.
  • Access flexible working arrangements, an additional leave purchase program, wellbeing support resources and novated leasing through Fleet Plus.

If you’re a technology specialist who is fascinated by AI, digital transformation and how modern organisations manage technology risk, and you’d like to use that expertise to help evolve an assurance function, we’d love to hear from you. Bring the tech expertise. Bring the curiosity. Help us build what modern audit looks like next.

We believe diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are essential to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that strengthen our teams and help us innovate, and we’re committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels they belong and can reach their full potential.
