About Sunshine Help

At Sunshine Help, we deliver premium, person-centred care designed to empower individuals with disabilities. We focus on driving independence, personal growth, and dignity for our participants. Our high standards ensure that every partner in our care network provides exceptional, tailored support within the community.

The Opportunity

We are inviting qualified independent contractors (sole traders with an active ABN) to submit expressions of interest to support a female participant residing in Tarneit. The participant has complex care needs, specifically cerebral palsy and mental health challenges. We require two reliable professionals to cover a comprehensive roster comprising both day shifts and inactive night shifts (sleepovers). Candidates must be comfortable staying on-site overnight in an inactive capacity, remaining available only if an urgent need arises.

Note: Genuine occupational requirements apply. Sunshine Help references Section 28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic) regarding gender-specific care for this position. Specific cultural compatibility, lifestyle alignment, and communication style form a critical part of our selection criteria to match the direct household preferences of the participant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored physical, emotional, and psychosocial support as an independent provider.
  • Assist with complex daily living routines, including high-quality personal care, mobility management, and meal preparation during day hours.
  • Provide passive overnight support during inactive sleepover shifts, ensuring the participant's safety and peace of mind.
  • Implement trauma-informed and recovery-oriented strategies to assist the participant with mental health challenges.
  • Provide reliable community access, transporting the participant to social activities and essential appointments.
  • Maintain precise shift documentation to ensure seamless continuity of care across handovers.

Experience & Attributes

  • 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience in disability support or complex community care.
  • Proven professional experience supporting individuals with cerebral palsy and complex mental health needs.
  • Exceptional communication skills, emotional maturity, and absolute reliability.

Mandatory Compliance Documents & Qualifications

  • Active Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Comprehensive Resume outlining historical care experience
  • Tailored Cover Letter
