Are you an experienced Histology Scientist looking for your next opportunity in a busy, growing laboratory where quality and teamwork are at the heart of what we do? We are looking for a skilled and motivated Histology Scientist to join our supportive Histology team in Thornleigh on a full-time evening shift. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on histology work, takes pride in producing high-quality results, and thrives in a collaborative laboratory environment.
About the Role
- Perform specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, special stains and immunohistochemistry.
- Produce high-quality slides for diagnostic reporting.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot histology equipment and instrumentation.
- Support laboratory quality, safety and accreditation requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain efficient workflows and laboratory turnaround times.
- Contribute your knowledge and experience to a professional and supportive laboratory environment.
About You
- AIMS-accredited Bachelor of Laboratory Science, Medical Science or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a Histology laboratory.
- Strong practical experience across histological techniques, laboratory instrumentation and quality systems.
- Experience in specimen cut‑up/grossing is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Confident working independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
