Strathfield Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Greenkeeper to join our course maintenance team. Over the past seven years, the Club has undergone a significant transformation, with 14 of the 18 holes rebuilt, alongside the construction of a brand-new clubhouse and modern staff facilities. Now firmly established as one of the premier private golf clubs in Sydney’s Inner West, Strathfield is entering an exciting new phase of development.
The Club is currently undertaking major projects, including:
- Installation of a new irrigation system
- Intensive fairway drainage works
- Ongoing implementation of the course master plan
The Role
Working as part of the course maintenance team, the Greenkeeper will help maintain the golf course to a high standard. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors and is keen to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the course.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily course maintenance, including mowing, rolling, edging and presentation work
- Assist with course improvement and renovation projects
- Help maintain irrigation systems and carry out basic troubleshooting and repairs
- Follow safe work practices when using machinery, equipment and chemicals
- Work collaboratively with the course maintenance team to deliver the daily program
Skills and Experience
- 4th year apprentice's welcome
- Good knowledge of turf care, machinery and safe work practices
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Remuneration and Benefits
A salary of $75,000, plus paid overtime, will be offered to the successful applicant. The role also includes free access to golf at Strathfield Golf Club.
