Stowaway is an eclectic little neighbourhood bar, just 500 metres from Freshie Beach, with a strong local following, plenty of familiar faces and a busy cocktail service. We’re looking for an experienced bartender to join our team — someone who enjoys a lively service, making guests feel welcome and working together to keep things running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Serve drinks and provide warm, friendly service
- Work efficiently during busy, high-volume services
- Keep the bar clean, organised and stocked
- Help with glass polishing, running drinks and general bar duties
- Support the floor team and pitch in wherever needed
About you
- Previous general bar experience is essential
- You’re friendly, approachable and bring good energy
- You’re comfortable working in a busy bar
- You’re a team player, happy to lend a hand
- Cocktail experience is welcome but isn’t essential — we’re happy to help you build those skills
- Some weekend availability is required, but you don’t need to be available every weekend

We’re a fun, hands-on team who look out for each other and share the load. Floor staff help polish glasses, bartenders help run drinks, and everyone contributes to a great service. We close before 10pm most nights and before midnight on Saturdays and Sundays, so you get the atmosphere of a busy neighbourhood bar without the early-morning finishes.
