Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes to our menu standards.
- Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces and portioning ingredients.
- Prepare and replenish cabinet food, sandwiches, salads and other ready-to-go items.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation and portion sizes.
- Follow recipes, food safety procedures and hygiene standards.
- Assist with stock rotation, labelling, storage and waste control.
- Keep kitchen equipment, workstations and preparation areas clean and organised.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with deliveries, stock handling and general kitchen duties as required.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Cook, Junior Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
- Experience in a café or breakfast kitchen is highly regarded.
- Basic cooking skills and a good understanding of food preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen while maintaining quality.
- A positive attitude, reliability and strong teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn, take direction and contribute to the team.
- Availability for early starts and a rotating weekend roster.
A Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery and a current Food Safety Certificate are advantageous.
