Your local community. Your caseload. Supported by Steppr.

Steppr is a Perth based Positive Behaviour Support provider looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners across Australia to join us as independent contractors.

Have an existing caseload or the connections to build one? We’d love to hear from you.

You’ll source your own clients and deliver services through Steppr, with administrative support and access to our established systems.

The rates

  • $150 per billable hour for eligible behaviour support services, including appointments, assessments, report writing and implementation support
  • $75 per hour for eligible billable practitioner travel time

Eligible billable activities and payment arrangements will be confirmed in your contractor agreement.

Flexibility that fits your availability

Agree on a caseload that suits your capacity, deliver appointments in your local community and complete reports and clinically appropriate telehealth appointments remotely.

Steppr provides administrative support with onboarding, service agreements and invoicing, along with connection to an established behaviour support team.

The work

You’ll undertake functional behaviour assessments, develop behaviour support plans and help participants, families and support teams put practical strategies into action.

We’re looking for thoughtful practitioners who communicate clearly, produce quality reports and follow through on their commitments.

Bring your clients and connections

Contractors are responsible for sourcing and maintaining their own clients. This opportunity suits practitioners with an existing caseload, established referral relationships or a clear approach to building their client base.

What you’ll need

  • Suitability to practise as a Behaviour Support Practitioner confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Experience independently managing a behaviour support caseload
  • Current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance
  • Current comprehensive car insurance covering your vehicle’s use for work
  • A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle for local appointments
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance
  • Current Working with Children Check, or the equivalent clearance in your state or territory
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module and other NDIS training modules required by Steppr
  • An up to date Infection Prevention and Control certificate
  • A valid ABN

You must provide evidence before commencement and maintain current insurance, training and clearances throughout your engagement.

Working within Steppr

All Steppr services must be delivered and documented through our designated systems, including Splose. Appointments, progress notes, reports, billing records and participant documentation must meet Steppr’s clinical, privacy and compliance requirements.

Business structure

Our standard contracting arrangement is with an Australian Pty Ltd company. Sole traders may be considered under a separate agreement. Where Steppr is required to pay superannuation, the advertised hourly amount will include that contribution, reducing the cash fee payable to you. The arrangement will be agreed before commencement.
