Brisbane based opportunity for a market research role focused on steel making coal supply and price analysis.
This role is responsible for providing specialist research, analysis, and developing views on global supply, cost, quality and pricing of steel making coal. The position would suit a Mining Engineer or Geologist who has a good understanding of mining operations and an interest in business, analysis, and research.
In this role, you would review production, quality and cost for a range of global mines and look to provide insights into short, medium and long term market fundamentals. We think the position could be a good stepping stone for a geologist or mining engineer who has analytical experience of mine planning, feasibility studies, and techno-commercial evaluation.
Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree – ideally Mining Engineering or Geology or a related subject. Further education in business, commerce or finance would be favourable.
- Site operation and analytical experience of mine planning, feasibility studies, and techno-commercial evaluation.
- Interest in the business side of mining – pricing, economics, evaluation, events that may affect production etc.
- Strong experience using Excel or other software for data analysis and reporting.
