The Opportunity
Steelcraft Framing is one of South-East Queensland’s leading steel frame and truss manufacturers, supplying volume and custom builders across the region.
We have grown hard over the last three years, and we are investing in the people who run the floor.
The Production Supervisor is the role that turns the daily plan into finished frames.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you set the rhythm of the shifts, hold the standard on quality and safety, and make sure the trucks leave with product that is right the first time.
If the floor runs well, the builder gets their frames on the day they were promised.
- What You Will Own
- Delivering the daily production plan across frames, trusses and stock items, on time and in full
- Leading two Team Leaders and their assembly teams, setting expectations and holding people to them
- WHS on the floor, toolbox talks, hazard identification and PPE compliance across all shifts
- Quality and First-Time-Right standards for straightness, twist, camber, bow, punch accuracy and weld quality
- Machine care and uptime, working alongside the Maintenance Fitter to keep roll-formers running
- Material flow and 5S, coordinating with Yard, Stores and Dispatch so the line never stops waiting on steel
- Structured shift handovers, early escalation of bottlenecks, and Root Cause Analysis on recurring problems
About You
- Supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing, roll forming, fabrication or a production environment
- Comfortable reading work orders and production drawings
- You understand how machine performance and maintenance affect output and accuracy
- You can hold a standard without being told twice, and coach a Team Leader rather than do their job for them
- Comfortable with an early start, and across both day and afternoon shift operations
- Forklift licence an advantage
- Steel framing experience is a plus, not a must.
We will teach you the product.
What we need is someone who can run a shift, lead people and refuse to let poor workmanship through.
- This Role Is Not for You If
- You let quality slide when the day is running behind
- You avoid the hard conversation and hope it fixes itself
- You wait to be told what the problem is instead of going and finding it
- You think safety is paperwork
- You need to be the hero on the tools instead of building capability in the team
- Why Steelcraft Group
- Modern Larapinta facility with ongoing investment in plant, layout and systems
- Clear targets and measures, so you always know where you stand
- Strong team culture built on accountability, quality and trust
- A growing business that promotes from within for the right people
- Direct access to the Production Manager and leadership team, not six layers of approval
If you take pride in a floor that runs clean, safe and on plan, we want to hear from you.
