Star Academy Kids Early Learning Centre – Belfield NSW is seeking an energetic and dedicated Centre Manager / Nominated Supervisor to take operational and educational leadership of our early learning service in Belfield. This role balances hands‑on pedagogical leadership with centre management.

Currently, the position is structured with 3 allocated office days per week dedicated to compliance, family tours, and administrative tasks, with the remaining time spent mentoring educators directly on the floor. As enrolment grows across our network, this role will transition to 100% off‑the‑floor once all centres achieve full capacity.

Working closely with Area Leadership / Management, you will guide daily operations, nurture family partnerships, maintain high regulatory standards, and inspire a cohesive team of educators.

Office & Floor Allocation

  • Current Allocation: 3 days office-based (administration, compliance, tours, billing) and 2 days hands‑on room support/coaching.
  • Future Transition: Full‑time (5 days) off‑the‑floor management once all centres reach full occupancy targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pedagogical Leadership & Quality Practice: Mentor and lead educators in delivering high‑quality, play‑based programs under the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0). Oversee and actively update the centre’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) in alignment with the National Quality Standard (NQS). Model best‑practice routines and child‑focused interactions during floor‑based support days.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Child Safety: Serve as the Nominated Supervisor, ensuring strict adherence to the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and NSW Child Safe Standards. Manage room ratios, staffing rosters, and workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance. Coordinate incident reports, child protection processes, and notifications with the NSW Department of Education.
  • Operations, Enrolments & Administration: Conduct centre tours for prospective families to actively build occupancy toward full capacity. Oversee administrative operations, including attendance records, fee management, and Child Care Subsidy (CCS) processing via management software. Manage staff rostering and supply ordering within allocated centre operational targets.
  • Team Coaching & Community Partnerships: Support educator recruitment, on‑the‑job inductions, room meetings, and annual appraisals. Build trusting, transparent relationships with enrolled families and handle feedback constructively. Connect with local schools, allied health professionals, and community support agencies.

What We Offer

  • Remuneration: Competitive base salary of $80,000 – $90,000 + superannuation.
  • Clear Role Progression: A structured roadmap to step entirely off the floor as centre occupancies reach capacity targets.
  • Childcare Discount: Substantial employee fee discounts for your own enrolled children.
  • Professional Growth: Direct operational mentorship from senior leadership and support with ongoing leadership development.
  • Wellbeing Support: Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and structured onboarding.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications: ACECQA-approved Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA‑assessed equivalent).
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in a leadership capacity (Centre Director, 2IC / Assistant Director, or experienced Room Leader ready to step up).
  • NQF Knowledge: Practical working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, EYLF, and NSW regulatory compliance.
  • Current Clearances & Certifications: Valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid work. Approved First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training (HLTAID012). Approved Child Protection certificate (CHCPRT025 / Identifying and responding to children and young people at risk).
