We are looking for people who want to build a long-term career with us. Poitrel is an open cut metallurgical coal mine near Moranbah in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. We are looking for experienced Excavator Operators to join our Production team.
You will:
- Safely operate excavators to strip overburden and load coal and waste into haul trucks
- Complete pre-start checks and report defects promptly
- Work to the mine plan, dig and bench standards, and ground conditions as directed by supervisors and the dispatch system
- Work closely with truck operators, dozer operators, drill and blast crews and supervisors to keep production flowing safely
- Identify and report hazards, near misses and ground control concerns, and stop work when something is not right
- Take care of your machine and your work area
About you:
- Proven experience operating excavators in an open cut mine with relevant tickets
- Standard 11 (Coal Mining Induction) and a current Coal Board Medical, or willingness to obtain them before starting
- Right to work in Australia
- Commitment to safety and the ability to follow procedures and speak up
- Reliability and a good team attitude
