Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is a 315-room hotel located in Mascot, close to Sydney Domestic Airport. Home to our renowned La Boca Bar and Grill, specialising in Argentinian cuisine, and 11 versatile function rooms, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.
Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Casual Commis Chef to join our Kitchen Team.
The Role
Working alongside our experienced chefs, you will assist with food preparation, cooking and service across multiple outlets, including La Boca Restaurant & Bar, banquets and Room Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare mise en place and organise workstations for daily service.
- Prepare, cook and present dishes according to standard recipes.
- Assist with food preparation across various kitchen outlets.
- Ensure food quality, presentation and consistency.
- Follow stock rotation procedures and minimise food wastage.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Support the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
About You
- A recognised qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Minimum two years' experience in a similar kitchen role.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
