Turn complex data into meaningful business insights

At Stahmann Webster, reliable data helps us understand our operations, improve performance and make better business decisions.

We’re looking for an experienced Data and BI Developer to join our Brisbane-based ICT team and strengthen the reporting, analytics and data capability that supports our business.

This is a hands‑on opportunity to work across Power BI, SQL Server, data modelling, data warehousing and emerging AI applications within a diverse Australian agribusiness. You’ll develop practical solutions that give our teams access to trusted information and help shape how data is used across the organisation.

About the role

Reporting to the ICT Service Delivery Manager, you’ll be the technical specialist supporting our business intelligence, reporting and data solutions.

You’ll develop reports, dashboards and shared data models that turn complex information into clear and useful insights. Working closely with Business Systems Analysts, software engineers and stakeholders across the business, you’ll translate operational needs into practical data solutions.

You’ll also contribute to the development of trusted, well‑structured data for analytics and AI applications. This will include improving data quality, strengthening business definitions and establishing consistent data practices across the organisation.

What you’ll get involved in

  • Developing and maintaining business reports, dashboards and data visualisations
  • Managing Power BI workspaces, semantic models, refresh schedules, publishing and user access
  • Creating trusted and well‑documented datasets for reporting, applications and AI solutions
  • Maintaining and extending our Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse
  • Building, monitoring and improving ETL and ELT data pipelines
  • Designing data models that support reliable reporting, analytics and emerging AI applications
  • Supporting data quality, metadata, catalogue and lineage practices
  • Applying appropriate security and role-based access controls
  • Working with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and business processes
  • Helping establish consistent data modelling, reporting and governance standards
  • Supporting users and resolving reporting and data-related issues
  • Improving data literacy and confidence across the business

What you’ll bring

You’ll be someone who enjoys solving problems, working with complex information and helping others use data more effectively.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

A degree in data analytics, information technology, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience

At least three years’ experience in a similar data, business intelligence or reporting role

Advanced experience with a leading business intelligence platform, ideally Microsoft Power BI

Strong capability across data modelling, DAX and Power Query

Strong SQL skills, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server

Experience building and maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines

Experience creating semantic models and trusted datasets for reporting or AI applications

An understanding of data quality, business definitions and governance practices

The ability to translate business requirements into accurate, practical and user-friendly reporting solutions

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

The ability to work independently, manage priorities and follow solutions through to completion

Experience with low-code data capture tools, data cataloguing, data lineage or the agriculture industry would be highly regarded.

At Stahmann Webster, you’ll be part of an established Australian agribusiness with operations across a diverse and evolving industry.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Work across reporting, data engineering, analytics and emerging AI technologies
  • Develop data solutions that support real operational and commercial decisions
