About the Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store, from driving sales and managing stock to overseeing the Donation Area and ensuring donated goods are processed safely and efficiently. You’ll also monitor store performance, maintain operational standards and ensure the store is well presented and ready to welcome customers. With a mix of hands‑on tasks and operational responsibilities, there’s plenty of variety in your day.
Every sale at Vinnies helps fund services for people experiencing homelessness, financial hardship and other challenges in our community. You’ll play an important role in turning donated goods into valuable resources that support people in need. These permanent, full-time positions involve working across weekdays and weekends.
About You
You’re a motivated and approachable leader who enjoys working with people and helping a team reach its full potential. With leadership experience in retail, hospitality or customer service, you know how to keep a team engaged, handle busy periods and deliver a great customer experience. You’re confident managing day-to-day challenges, setting priorities and making practical decisions. You also have strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office and adapt to new systems and processes.
You understand the importance of maintaining a safe, organised and inviting store, and appreciate how donated goods help support people in need. You bring a positive attitude, a hands‑on approach and a genuine interest in making a difference in your community. You’ll also need a current driver’s licence, be willing to complete a National Police Check, hold or obtain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card, and complete a First Aid Certificate within three months of starting with us.
