We are currently seeking Casual Catering Assistants to join the Spotless team at the Brisbane Immigration Detention Centre. In this role, you will assist with the preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals, while helping maintain a safe and efficient catering environment and contributing to the overall wellbeing of those within the centre.
What you'll do
The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:
- Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef.
- Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated following safe work procedures, maintained in a clean and safe condition.

What you'll bring
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Bulk cooking experience similar to aged care or resources backgrounds
- Has a Certificate II Kitchen Operations or willing to undertake this course
- Food Safety Certificates
- Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
