Part time or full time Optometrist

Specsavers Merrylands is seeking a talented Optometrist to join our growing team on a full-time or part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern optical practice located in Merrylands, NSW, where you will deliver high-quality eye care services to our diverse patient base. As an Optometrist, you will play a vital role in our commitment to providing exceptional vision care and optical services to our community, whilst contributing to the success and reputation of our practice.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments for patients of all ages
• Diagnosing and managing common eye conditions and refractive errors
• Prescribing and fitting spectacles and contact lenses to meet individual patient needs
• Providing advice on eye health, vision correction options and preventative care
• Recording accurate patient information and maintaining detailed clinical records
• Recognising and referring patients with serious eye conditions to appropriate specialists
• Building strong relationships with patients to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty
• Contributing to the overall success of the practice through excellent customer service and professionalism
• Staying current with developments in optometry and optical technology

What we're looking for

• A valid Australian Optometry qualification and current registration with the Optometry Board of Australia
• A willingness to obtain or maintain Ophthalmology Therapeutic Goods Authorisation (TGA) if required by the role
• Strong clinical examination skills and the ability to make accurate diagnoses
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and colleagues
• A patient-centred approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality eye care
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• A professional and friendly demeanour that reflects our practice values
• Flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours but must be available to work 1 weekend day
• Previous experience in a busy optical practice is advantageous
