South West Hospital and Health Service has an exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Practitioner in Community Mental Health to join our team in Western Queensland.

Join us in building better health in the bush!

About This Role

Your opportunity

We are looking for someone who is interested in practicing in a rural/remote setting and in closing the gap in health outcomes for First Nations peoples.

In the South West, Adult Mental Health clinicians provide community-based consultation, assessment and treatment to people experiencing serious mental health disorders and problems. This position is responsible for a distinct case load of consumers and provides outreach to surrounding local communities.

The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care support in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.

Escape the city crowds and discover the red dirt wonderland where the skies are as big as the characters you will meet. Charleville is the largest town in South West Queensland, situated on the banks of the Warrego River in the heart of Mulga Country. Charleville is a reminder that the good things in life shouldn't be hurried, it's a chance to embrace the simple things in life and a celebration of community spirit with the annual Charleville Cup Races the highlight of summer.

What We Can Do For You

Ultimately, we provide you a platform to leapfrog your career with more opportunities to experience a wider scope of practice with less competition due to location and population.

Nowhere else will you experience the vast diversity of career advancement other than in rural and remote Queensland.

  • Highly autonomous role, a great opportunity to make your mark!
  • Outback sunsets and friendly country community vibes!
  • Professional development and locality allowances available!
