The Nurse Practitioner - ALERT Service is an advanced practice nursing role that provides autonomous, evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with complex and deteriorating clinical conditions across the hospital. The service also provides proactive patient surveillance, supports staff education in recognising and managing clinical deterioration, and reviews patients following discharge from the Intensive Care Unit to promote safe transitions of care. ALERT operates as a 24/7 multidisciplinary service focused on patient safety, quality care, and early intervention.
