Our client is an established supplier of specialist products to the building and trade markets. They are seeking an Internal Sales Coordinator who enjoys helping customers, learning how products work and keeping enquiries moving through to a useful and profitable outcome.

Working closely with an experienced sales team, you will help customers understand their options, coordinate information and samples, and ensure enquiries receive the attention they deserve. Your work will give field salespeople more time to develop relationships and pursue opportunities.

This is a busy, varied position suited to someone who enjoys customer interaction and takes pride in the organisation and follow-through behind good service.

Your contribution

  • As a first point of contact for customers, you will respond to enquiries by phone, email and live chat, asking questions to understand the customer’s project and requirements.
  • Develop your product knowledge so you can provide clear information, guide selections and recognise when specialist advice is needed.
  • Qualify enquiries and give the sales team clear, complete information for follow-up.
  • Assist visiting customers with product enquiries, samples and selections.
  • Coordinate samples, product information and sales materials for customers and colleagues.
  • Record enquiries, project details and agreed actions in the CRM, keeping information accurate and accessible.
  • Follow up outstanding matters and help improve how enquiries and information are managed.

You will speak with a mix of trade customers, resellers, specifiers and people seeking guidance on individual projects. Being able to adapt your communication to the person and the situation will be important.

What you will bring

  • Your background may include customer service, internal sales, sales support, trade supply or another environment where you have helped customers understand products or services.
  • We are open to different industry backgrounds. The qualities that matter are:
    • An inquisitive approach: you ask useful questions, listen carefully and work out what the customer needs.
    • An aptitude for learning: you can absorb product information and explain it clearly, with training and support.
    • Strong organisation: you can move between calls, emails and other tasks, then return to outstanding work without losing the details.
    • Clear communication: you are confident on the phone and can write concise, professional responses.
    • Practical capability: you are comfortable using business systems, maintaining records and working through basic product and quantity calculations.
    • A grounded, helpful manner: you contribute to the team and take ownership of the coordination and administration that help customers receive good service.
  • Experience with building products or trade customers would be useful. Product knowledge can be developed through training, regular technical discussions and support from experienced colleagues.

What makes the opportunity attractive

You will build knowledge across a varied product range, work with customers around Australia and see how your contribution supports the wider sales team. There is scope to suggest improvements as you become familiar with the business and its customers.

The position is permanent and full-time, based in the office, with some flexibility around start and finish times.
