As a Houseperson, you will play an essential role in supporting the Housekeeping department by ensuring the hotel is well-stocked, clean, organised, and operating efficiently. Working closely with the Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager and Supervisors, you will assist in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Housekeeping team with the distribution of linen, chemicals, guest amenities, and housekeeping supplies.
- Perform manual handling duties, including moving linen, equipment, rollaway beds and cots.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of housekeeping storerooms, service areas, trolleys and equipment.
- Keep guest corridors and back-of-house areas clean, safe and free from obstructions.
- Ensure housekeeping equipment is maintained, cleaned and stored correctly.
- Assist with general housekeeping operations as directed by Supervisors and Management.
- Deliver prompt, friendly and professional service to guests and respond to requests efficiently.
- Follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
- Maintain guest privacy, confidentiality and hotel security standards.
About you
- Previous experience in Housekeeping, Hotel Operations, Cleaning or Hospitality (preferred but not essential).
- A positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling and lifting duties.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
