Read technical drawings and specifications and establish installation reference points. Drill holes, install mounting brackets, and cut, bend and thread piping. Install and repair compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges and copper piping.
Connect pipes and equipment using bolting, soldering, riveting, welding and brazing techniques. Charge systems with gas or fluid and conduct pressure and leak tests. Test, operate and adjust refrigeration and air-conditioning systems for proper performance.
Evacuate systems using vacuum pumps and recharge with refrigerant. Inspect, overhaul and diagnose faults in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Repair or replace defective components, adjust controls and reassemble systems after servicing.
Record system faults, causes, repairs and corrective actions in accordance with safety requirements and applicable standards.
Qualifications and Experience
AQF Certificate III or higher education in relevant field A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role. The right to work in Australia Good English skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong time management skills
